What is bike frame size?
The frame size is simply the length of the bike’s seat tube, measured from the center of the cranks to either the top of the tube (referred to as “center to top”), or to the point where the seat tube intersects with the top tube (referred to as “center to center”).
How is frame size measured on a bike?
Adult bikes are measured by their frame size. Most manufacturers now measure the frame from the centre of the crank axle, to the top of the seat tube. Most road bikes are measured in centimetres (cm), whereas mountain bikes are generally measured using inches (in).
Does frame size of bike matter?
If your arm span is longer than your height, go for a bigger frame. If it’s shorter, get the smaller one. On a bigger bike, the reach to the handlebars will be longer. If you have proportionally longer arms, you are likely to feel more comfortable on a bigger frame.
